Winter Gold Prospecting a small steep creek.

I'm out in beautiful Revelstoke BC on a ski trip and needed to take a break to rest my legs! I found this small creek near town and thought I would see how hard it is to dig with a minimalist backpack full of just the basics. A gold pan and a small folding shovel.

The shovel may not have survived, but I had a great day working near some beautiful fresh running water and wound up exposing a larger rock that I really want to try and move. I made up a pulley system with some rope and tried to move the boulder...

I'll be upgrading my shovel and heading back the next time my legs need a break from skiing. If there is gold in this creek, I'll be the first to show it to you!
