This was supposed to be a short test live stream. But one hour later it turned out not to be quite so short. (It flew by.)
Things that happened that I wasn't expecting. I couldn't stream on the high speed WiFi here. It tests at 30Mb up and down, but the YouTube app had issues with actual speed or consistency of throughput. I had to switch to my phones 4G connection to do the stream.
I wondered how long it would be until people joined the stream. It was instant as soon as I started streaming, and the comments were scrolling by so fast they were mostly unreadable. Thanks to those who mentioned slow mode where you can set a time delay between comments from specific viewers. I'll try that on the next stream.
I hope I wasn't talking too fast. I got carried along by the tide of comments and wanted to fit as many answers in as possible.
A lot of the comments were asking if I was gay. The answer is yes, but not in the way the media presents. I'm just very, very male. I've got a very harsh theory that there's more than one type of human, and some of us are designated as engineers and not intended to breed. I find the whole man-meets-woman thing slightly perplexing, as that emotion (and many others) seems to be missing completely as if it''s an option that mother nature turned off. An extraordinary percentage of technical people seem to fall into the same category. I'll make a dedicated video about this subject some day, but I find it difficult to explain as there's no decisive answer as to why it happens in the first place.
I will be doing more live streams in the future if I can find reliable data connections. I may pre-announce them and ask you to leave questions in advance on that video.
