In November of 2004, the UAF Fire Department intentionally burned down several abandoned houses for training. Smoke and Carbon Monoxide from the fires leaked into the utilidor tunnels connecting these houses with nearby occupied structures, resulting in an emergency evacuation and cleanup later that night. Thanks to a heads-up on the initial burn and a later alert on my police scanner, I was able to film both the training fires and the later response. The narration is from a companion article I wrote for the campus newspaper.
This is archival footage from 2004 with the best camera available at the time, but HD hadn't been invented yet so it's only about 720p.
