The Guy Spier 2 Year Rule of Investing Success

I had the pleasure of interviewing Guy Spier many years ago. He's a value investor who runs Aquamarine Capital. He's well known for having spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to have lunch with Warren Buffett.

One of the many things Guy taught me about investing is his 2 Year Rule. Once he buys a stock, he keeps it for at least two years. This simple rule can help investors avoid making rash decisions based on the daily, weekly or monthly fluctuations of the stock market. It can also help us slow down and really think about the investing decisions we make.
