The pathways to becoming an electrician offer diverse routes, such as apprenticeships tailored for adults or self-funded options. Opting for an apprenticeship provides an immersive experience with substantial on-the-job learning, where the choice of your employer holds paramount significance.

On the other hand, the self-funded route enables a transition after the completion of your training. This path involves investing in your own training and subsequently seeking opportunities to build a portfolio after achieving levels 2 and 3. Unlike a full-time apprenticeship, this option permits a more flexible weekly time commitment.
