This video started as a behind-the-scenes look at the cameras I use to film this channel. Then I got ahold of a broken DJI Osmo Pocket and did a bit of repair and review on that (Spoiler Alert: They suck).
As with most of the things I build and use on this channel, almost all my camera equipment is second hand, scratch & dent, or otherwise "cheap". I'm still able to get surprisingly good video from most of it!
My main camera is currently a Sony HDR-CX440. I like the zoom range from very wide to very high zoom. I also like the image stabilization. I don't like the flaky filename structure and the lack of external mic jack.
I also have a few older GoPro Hero2 action cams. They're not the latest model but they work well enough for wet environments, timelapse videos, etc.
I filmed the first year or so of this channel with a Google Pixel 3 phone. I apparently used it so much that I burned out something in the video system, and now it no longer does video reliably (photos still work).
I also have a DJI Mini 2 drone, which is my only "new" device (it was a gift). It works great, DJI should definitely stick to drones :-)
