If it wasn't for the fact that the front cover pops off effortlessly, exposing live mains connections, this might not be a bad night light. Note that for countries with high current power circuits (like the UK) the light also lacks a suitable internal fuse capable of breaking high fault current.

If you have one of these in a kids room, I recommend either securing the cover with a suitable plastic glue (not superglue), or replacing it with a more compliant one bought locally.
