Why are we gold panning in a cave?

Yes you can pan Hard rock gold just like placer gold. Many old mines have hard rock gold or Load Gold sitting out on the surface weathered out of the rocks in the mine dumps. This gold is often very fine but can be quite abundant. In this video Shane from Klesh guitars, Pauly from Pioneer Pauly, Andrew from Back country explorers and Davy from The Chamber of Mines of Eastern BC all went into the Blue Chip mine to do some exploring, but more importantly to do some sampling. Pauly and Shane did some panning to find the weathered out hard rock gold, while Davy and I took some chip samples and grab samples to send in to a lab for analysis. (Fire assay)
