Is gold always found on bedrock? We examine why relying solely on this common assumption might lead you to miss profitable deposits.
Many prospectors fixate on finding gold on bedrock because of traditional advice. However, geological history shows that pay streaks often form in various environments that do not involve traditional bedrock contact. By analyzing different types of placers and local bedrock conditions, you can stop focusing your efforts on potentially barren ground and start reading the landscape with more accuracy.
This guide helps you understand why gold distribution is more complex than simple layer theory. I break down the specific geological factors that dictate where deposits accumulate, ensuring you spend your time digging in high-probability areas. Learning to identify these alternative gold bearing formations is essential for any serious field prospector looking to improve their success rate.
