Look for the old workings – spots where the old timers worked. A old friend wrote a book he called “Follow the Dry washers”. The point of the book was that the old timers did a lot of the work of exploration for us and found the gold deposits. From little dry was spots, to small ground sluice workings to giant hydraulic mine workings and hard rock mines with deep shafts and adits – all of these have potential for gold. If the old timers took gold from a place, it’s a good chance that some gold treasure is left behind for us.
