I was happily digging away at a paystreak when all of a sudden the gold changed from being in the gravel layers just below the mud, to being exclusively in the very surface mud layers as I moved along the bank of the river. In this video I show you just how thin of a layer the gold can be in, as well as how I do a "prospecting" pan here in Alberta in muddy ground.
