This Is How I Actually Find Gold — Don’t Tell Anyone

Bigger equipment doesn’t automatically mean more gold. When a deposit is small and concentrated, dragging in a highbanker, sluice box or expensive prospecting equipment can actually be a waste of time. You could process the entire gold-bearing deposit before the extra equipment ever provides a real advantage.

Using only a gold pan, I prospect the ground, follow the gold, define the boundaries of the deposit and work out exactly where the best concentrations of alluvial gold are hiding.

This is the kind of practical gold prospecting knowledge that normally takes years in the field to learn — and probably the sort of information I should be keeping to myself.
