Upgraded Allen Key with Recycled Plastic

Have you ever looked at the Allen key left over after building your latest flatpack furniture and had the inevitable thought, “you’re too special to throw away”, while spinning it between your fingers and kidding yourself that it’ll definitely come in handy for all your future hex bolt tightening needs… so it ends up in the kitchen drawer joining all the other forgotten Allen keys from previous projects? Yeah… well, we have too.

As much as we love a humble hex key, it definitely feels like there’s room for improvement, especially when it comes to comfort, ergonomics, and a little extra persuasion while tightening.

So we tried injecting recycled plastic straight over the bent end of the Allen key using our @plasticpreneur Plus+ injection machines, resulting in the most satisfying grip. It honestly has us wanting to buy more Ikea furniture just so we can use this little tool again.
